Rob McLister has been informing mortgage consumers and professionals since 2007. In that time, he’s written more than 2,800 mortgage reports for publications ranging from the Globe and Mail—where he’s served as mortgage columnist since 2012—to the National Post, Maclean’s and Canadian Mortgage Trends. Regularly quoted throughout the media, Rob is a noted consumer advocate who fights for greater transparency in mortgage sales and policymaking.

In 2011, he launched two fintechs: mortgage comparison website RateSpy.com and digital mortgage broker intelliMortgage Inc. Both companies were acquired in 2019 by Kanetix Ltd., a holding of Ontario Teachers Pension Plan.

Rob went on to launch MortgageLogic.news, a professional bulletin analyzing interest rates, mortgage products, leveraged investing and housing risks and opportunities. Core to MortgageLogic.news’ value are the model-based financing strategies that Rob has developed over more than a decade.
