Julie Turcotte
Assistant Deputy Minister, Economic Policy Branch, Department of FinanceJulie Turcotte is Assistant Deputy Minister of the Economic Policy Branch. In this capacity, she is responsible for the Departmental analysis of the Canadian economy, short- and long-term macroeconomic forecasts, macroeconomic modelling and cutting-edge research on public policies. She also oversees the provision of critical policy advice to the Minister on economic trends and various macroeconomic issues that shape Canada’s medium- to long-term economic performance and living standards.
Julie Turcotte has over 20 years of experience in macroeconomic and public policy analysis, exemplified through her leadership on developing Canada’s Gender Results Framework. She began her career at Employment and Social Development Canada and joined the Department of Finance in 2001.
Born in Montréal, Julie holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Montreal.
