Dawn Desjardins is an economist and executive with experience in researching economic and policy issues. She joined Deloitte Canada in May 2023 as Chief Economist. Over her career she has communicated complex issues to clients, decision-makers and media audiences. She was RBC’s Deputy Chief Economist, a reporter for Bloomberg Financial News in Canada and a bond strategist at JP Morgan Canada. At RBC, Dawn managed a team of economists who were responsible for the economic and financial market forecasts for Canada and the US.
A passionate advocate of women’s labour market engagement, in recent years, Dawn used her research to start conversations, drive policy discussions and effect change.
Vicki Saunders is an entrepreneur, advisor to the next generation of change-makers and leading advocate for entrepreneurship as a way of creating positive transformation in the world. Vicki is Founder of Coralus (formerly SheEO), a global community of radically generous women supporting women-led ventures working on the World’s To-Do List.
Vicki has co-founded and run ventures in Europe, Toronto and Silicon Valley and taken a company public on the Toronto Stock Exchange. She has received numerous awards for her work including UBS Global Visionary (2020), YWCA Women of Distinction Award (2020), and Business Leader of the Year 2019 by the Toronto Regional Board of Trade.
Marci Surkes has served at the most senior levels of federal governance. Executive director of policy and cabinet affairs in the Prime Minister’s Office from 2019-2022, Marci led the policy team providing strategic advice to the Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, implementing the government’s mandate through setting the agenda for Cabinet.
Marci was deeply involved in the federal government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the development of the new national system for Early Learning and Child Care, and played a key role in writing three federal Liberal electoral platforms. She has spearheaded a number of significant federal initiatives and pieces of legislation.
