
Laura Gu
Economist, ScotiabankLaura Gu joined Scotiabank Economics in 2021 as an Economist. She oversees regional economic forecasting and fiscal policy analysis while also providing research and commentary on a wide range of topics. She contributes to Scotiabank’s economic modeling work. Over the course of her career, she focused on macroeconomic research and forecasting, delivering evidence-based insights to both industry and investment clients. She previously held a senior economic analyst position at the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. Laura holds a Master of Arts in economics from McGill University and a Master of Finance from the Schulich School of Business in Toronto.
