AAAE Hybrid (in-person): AGM followed by In the eye of the storm – getting back to sustained economic growth in a highly turbulent time
David Campbell will discuss where he sees growth potential in the Atlantic region, following the release of his new book “Toward Prosperity: The Transformation of Atlantic Canada’s Economy”. Themes of the presentation will include the region’s productivity challenge, and a future with freer interprovincial trade — acknowledging there will be both winners and losers. It will also discuss the reemergence of demographic risks in the region if we see a sustained curtailment of immigration and international students. Lastly, David will discuss the potential of large-scale natural resources development, and why he remains optimistic about the region’s future.
