Lam An Dr. Lam An Assistant Professor of Marketing, University of Winnipeg

Dr. Lam An is an Assistant Professor of Marketing and director of the ICE Behaviour Research Lab at the University of Winnipeg. His research examines consumer decision-making using biometric and behavioral data. His work on artificial intelligence focuses on how individuals perceive and interact with AI technologies in contexts such as healthcare, chatbot interfaces, and service environments.

Dr. An partners with local non-profit organizations to help students develop marketing skills while supporting community initiatives. He received a SSHRC Insight Grant in 2024 for research on disinformation.

Qian Liu Dr. Qian Liu Assistant Professor of Computer Science, University of Winnipeg

Dr. Qian Liu’s research focuses on artificial intelligence, data mining, data visualization, and statistical modeling. Her work emphasizes the integrative analysis of high-dimensional and multimodal data, particularly in areas such as medical imaging, genomics, and biological networks.

Her lab develops advanced data science methods—including multimodal data integration, machine learning, and interpretable AI—to address complex challenges in healthcare and bioinformatics. Dr. Liu received a 2024 NSERC Discovery Grant and Discovery Launch Supplement, as well as a 2025 Manitoba Medical Service Foundation (MMSF) Research Operating Grant.

Michael Liu Michael Liu (B.S. Computer Science) Founder & Software Engineer, Engrave Ocean Technologies

Michael Liu is the founder and lead engineer of Engrave Ocean Technologies, a Winnipeg-based technology firm specializing in enterprise software systems and artificial intelligence solutions. His work focuses on helping organizations adopt scalable digital infrastructure, intelligent automation, and AI-driven decision systems.

He has led projects involving private large-language-model deployment, microservices architecture, and digital transformation frameworks for small and medium-sized enterprises and educational institutions.
