Paul Beaudry
Professor at the Vancouver School of Economics
Paul is a Professor at the Vancouver School of Economics and is interested in everything that relates to the macro-economy, both domestically and internationally. In particular, his research relates to business cycles, inflation, financial markets, the macro-economic effects of technological change and globalization, and the determinants of aggregate employment and wages. He teaches macroeconomics to both undergraduates and graduate students. Paul is also currently a Senior Economic Advisor for Bennett Jones.
Paul obtained his Ph.D. from Princeton University. He has held faculty positions at Oxford University, Boston University and the Universite de Montreal. Paul has also been a visiting Professor at MIT, Paris-Sorbonne and the Toulouse School of Economics. He was Deputy Governor at the Bank of Canada from February 2019 to August 2023. A native of Quebec City, Paul enjoys hiking, history and art museums.
