TABE Webinar: Sovereignty by Design
Defining “sovereignty” is a challenge: it’s vague, value‑laden, and used inconsistently across policy debates.
Kaylie Tiessen, Chief Economist with the Canadian Shield Institute, will explore their use of a “Sovereignty Score” – a transparent, evidence‑based framework for assessing Canada’s economic sovereignty using observable indicators rather than slogans. Kaylie will define economic sovereignty in practical terms and explain why it matters for growth, resilience, and long‑term competitiveness, not just national security.
Join us on May 5 for an enlightening conversation on applying the framework to existing policy, the nuance between protectionism and strategic openness, and the procurement challenge of “buying Canada”, including how we define a Canadian company and content in a globalized context.
