APEBC/CABE Webinar: Tensions, Trade & Technology

In a context marked by heightened geopolitical tension, economic fragmentation and rapid technological change, Gregory Daco will share his perspective on the key macroeconomic forces currently shaping business activity, with a particular focus on the implications for companies. The discussion will examine geopolitical developments in the Middle East and their global economic spillovers, evolving trade dynamics and geoeconomic fragmentation, financial markets and monetary policy inflection points, the macroeconomic impact of artificial intelligence, and demographic shifts along with their implications for growth, labor markets and productivity.

Gregory Daco is Chief Economist at EY – one of the world’s largest professional services organizations helping CEOs and business leaders design and deliver transformative strategies that help build long-term value. Greg leads EY’s global economic research and analysis, providing insights and advice to clients, policymakers, and the public on the most pressing economic issues and trends. He conducts frequent briefings for CEOs, corporate boards, trade associations, and policymakers. He also acts as an internal advisor to the EY global executive leadership team. He is passionate about advancing the state of knowledge and practice in macroeconomics, monetary policy, and economic development, and sharing his insights and perspectives with diverse audiences.

Greg’s distinct approach to macroeconomics makes him a frequent contributor to the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Barron’s and other publications. He is also a regular guest of CNBC, Bloomberg, Yahoo Finance, BBC and NPR. Greg is the host of EY-Parthenon’s Macro Bites video series and NABE’s Econ-versations podcast.

Prior to joining EY, Greg was Chief US Economist at Oxford Economics where he led a team of high-caliber economists producing forecasts, analysis and research on the US and global economy. Before Oxford Economics, Greg was Director of US Macroeconomics at IHS Global Insight, now IHS Markit part of S&P Global.

Greg currently serves as President of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE).
