SEA In-Person: Economic Outlook and Investment Forum
This premier event will bring together business leaders, investors, economists, government representatives, industry experts, and community stakeholders to explore the economic trends, opportunities, and challenges shaping Regina, Saskatchewan, and the broader Canadian economy.
Economic Outlook Presentation
This presentation will set the stage for the conference. It will provide an overview of the Saskatchewan economy and insights into the provincial, national and international trends impacting Saskatchewan’s economic outlook.
Panel 1: Agriculture & Agrifood Outlook
This panel brings together perspectives spanning the agricultural value chain: agricultural lending and risk management; large-scale primary production paired with agri-technology and farm management innovation; legal and transactional expertise serving the sector; and the voice of primary livestock producers. Together, these perspectives can explain how Saskatchewan agriculture is adjusting its financing, operations, legal structures, and producer economics in a year defined by trade disruption and shifting global demand.
Panelists: Kristjan Hebert (President, Hebert Group), Tyley Groeneveld (CEO, Protein Industries Canada), Chad Ross (Executive Chair, Saskatchewan Cattle Association), Leigh Anderson (Senior Economist, Farm Credit Canada), Tristan Culham (Partner, Agriculture Lead, MLT Aikins)
Panel 2: Energy & Nuclear
This panel brings together organizations spanning the full arc of Saskatchewan’s energy sector: supply chain readiness and workforce accreditation for major energy and mining projects, early-stage exploration in a new domestic energy category, the province’s principal electricity utility advancing both small modular reactors and a large-scale nuclear evaluation alongside rising demand, and the province’s natural gas distributor, positioned as a likely partner in non-grid, or bring-your-own-power, generation for major industrial loads. Together, these perspectives can speak to Saskatchewan’s energy story from exploration through to the grid.
Panelists: Rupen Pandya (President & CEO, SaskPower), Ranjith Narayanasamy (CEO & Vice Chairman, MAX Power Mining Corp.), Grant Cherkas (Nuclear Specialist, Saskatchewan Industrial & Mining Suppliers Association (SIMSA))
