2026 AAAE Hybrid (Virtual) – Student Event Panel

The 2026 AAAE Student Panel will feature an intellectual competition among three undergraduate students from across Atlantic Canada, each presenting original research for the opportunity to earn cash awards. The session will conclude with an invited presentation from a graduate student, showcasing advanced research at the frontier of economic inquiry.

Universities across the region submitted exemplary work from students completing major research projects/theses. All submissions underwent rigorous evaluation by an independent selection committee of expert Economists, who carefully assessed the scholarly merit, methodological rigour, and policy relevance of each entry. Through this deliberative process, the committee identified the finalists to compete and determined which graduate student receives the honour of being the sole presenter in their category.

All panelists will present their research findings, articulate the significance of their work, demonstrate the application of economic principles, and communicate key analytical results. Their presentations will culminate in evidence-based policy recommendations, highlighting both the real-world implications and the academic contributions of their studies.
