AAAE Early Career Economists’ Panel
AAAE needs Early Career Economists for our panel event!
We are inviting submissions for the Atlantic Association of Applied Economists (AAAE) 11th annual Early-Career Economists’ Panel that we aim to hold on November 26th, 2025.
This event is a rewarding professional development opportunity for early-career economists. Attendees benefit from exposure to a wide range of research topics.
Managers/supervisors: Please consider who in your organization would benefit from this opportunity and encourage them to participate. Work with them to identify a project they have led or contributed to that they could present.
Early-career Economists: We encourage you to take advantage of this great learning opportunity and benefit from feedback from more experienced professionals. This has been a great experience for previous early-career presenters. If you are interested in presenting, please discuss this with your supervisor to ensure their support and approval before making your submission and to identify a project you have led or contributed to that would be suitable to present.
Eligibility: The panel is open to individuals in the early stages of their careers as economists/economic policy analysts (i.e., those with less than 10 years of professional experience) in any of the four Atlantic provinces, or those from outside the Atlantic region with Atlantic connections. Panelists must be (or must become) an AAAE/CABE member to participate. Projects from your professional career are encouraged but past academic work will also be considered. All are encouraged to apply.
Format: 3 or 4 early-career economists will make short presentations (~15 minutes) to the rest of the AAAE on a topic of their choosing, followed by Q&A for each presenter. The event will be conducted virtually – technical details TBD.
Date: Wednesday, November 26th, 2025, 12:00pm to 2:00pm.
Application Process: Interested early-career economists should email Ryan MacLeod at ryanmacleod@gov.pe.ca or Roger Miranda at roger.miranda@gnb.ca no later than Friday, October 31, 2025.
Please include your presentation title, a one paragraph summary of your proposed topic/presentation and indicate your current position and how long you have been employed in that position.
