APEBC/CABE Webinar: B.C.’s Fiscal Outlook: The Tipping Point

B.C.’s fiscal position has deteriorated rapidly in recent years. Since 2021, operating spending has grown at twice the rate of revenue, and capital spending has doubled. The province has lost its AAA credit rating, as S&P Global downgraded it five times in consecutive years while maintaining a negative outlook – raising debt-servicing costs. Despite tax increases, along with modest efficiency measures and staffing reductions, Budget 2026 still projects a record $13.3 billion deficit (2.9% of GDP). What lies ahead on the current trajectory?

Join David Williams for an in-depth analysis of the province’s economic and fiscal future.
