The 37th annual MABE Outlook Conference, the only one of its kind in Manitoba, is designed for the person who needs to know where the provincial economy is headed over the next year. From an overview of the national and local situation, to details on essential industries and briefings on emerging issues, this conference brings you the latest information from national and local experts who know what’s happening.

Konrad Zmitrowicz is a Senior Policy Advisor in the Canadian Economic Analysis Department (CEA), helping to oversee the production of the Bank’s Monetary Policy Report. Konrad has an extensive background in analyzing commodity markets as well as monitoring and forecasting the Canadian and US economies. Konrad previously served as the Director of the International Projection Division (IPD), where his focus was on producing the quarterly global macroeconomic outlook. Konrad holds an MA in economics from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba.

Farrukh Suvankulov is a Regional Director (Economics) in the Canadian Economic Analysis Department at the Bank of Canada. His primary research fields are energy economics, international trade and applied econometrics. Mr. Suvankulov holds a PhD in policy analysis (economics) from the RAND Graduate School as well as a Master of Arts degree in economics from Yale University.

Chris Ferris is a Consultant with InterGroup Consultants. Chris joined InterGroup in 2024 and has more than 20 years of professional experience as an economist in the economic development, agribusiness, telecom, and education research industries.
Previously Chris served as the Senior Economist at Economic Development Winnipeg, where he reported on major factors which affect the Manitoba economy and developed an economic impact analysis framework to report on successes, and to evaluate prospective projects. Chris has a Master of Arts degree in economics from the University of Manitoba.

Paul is a senior economist within the CAO’s office at the City of Winnipeg. He specializes in macroeconomic analysis, economic impact analysis, and forecasting with a particular interest in stock-flow consistent models. He holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Ottawa. Prior to joining the City in 2019, he was an economist with the Manitoba Bureau of Statistics.

Vince Barletta has been the President & CEO of Harvest Manitoba since September 2021. Vince previously served in various leadership roles in provincial and municipal government, as Leader of the YES! Winnipeg initiative at Economic Development Winnipeg, and most recently as President & CEO of the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation. Vince has a Master of City Planning from the University of Manitoba.

Dave has been the Intelligence Specialist – Crops at Manitoba Agriculture since 2017. Prior to this Dave was the Director of Pooling at G3, and was previously was the Manager of Strategy and Planning at the Canadian Wheat Board. Dave has a Master’s degree in Agriculture Economics from the University of Saskatchewan.
