OEA Webinar: Unpacking the Upcoming 2025 Federal Budget

The Government of Canada will table its federal budget on November 4, 2025. This budget marks a significant departure from previous approaches, introducing a new budgetary framework and modernizing the budget cycle. For economists and professionals, key areas of focus will include the new Capital Budgeting Framework, the budget deficit, and strategies to support businesses impacted by tariffs, particularly small businesses, which make up over 90% of Canadian enterprises.

In response to recent U.S. tariffs affecting Canadian industries, the government has implemented several measures to assist businesses, including the Work-Sharing Program and a substantial enterprise tariff loan facility tailored for firms in critical sectors.

Given these developments, what can we expect from Carney’s first budget under this new fiscal framework? Are the government’s measures effectively mitigating the impact of tariffs on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)? Despite these challenges, what emerging opportunities might help SMEs pivot and capitalize on new market access prospects?

Join leading experts Kevin Page and Simon Gaudreault as they delve into expectations for the 2025 Federal Budget, assess the outlook for SMEs, and analyze the budget’s potential implications on these essential enterprises. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage in a vital discussion on the future of Canada’s economy and the role of SMEs. Register now!
