TABE 2026-27 Season Kick-off [In-person]
Kick off the 2026-27 TABE season with an exclusive evening deep inside living financial history! Step into The Vault at One King West—once Canada’s largest bank vault—for a unique event with John Turley-Ewart, Globe and Mail columnist and banking history expert, who will discuss the evolution of Canada’s financial system.
Following the presentation, connect with fellow TABE members as we mingle over food and drink, and set the stage for another exciting year ahead!

John Turley-Ewart
Globe and Mail Columnist and Banking History Expert
John Turley-Ewart is a weekly contributing columnist for The Globe and Mail who writes on business, banking and economic issues. In 2010 he joined RBC as a Senior Advisor to the bank’s Chief Compliance Officer. Working in Toronto and New York, John helped implement global regulatory programs for RBC Capital Markets.
In 2014 he founded a regulatory risk management consulting business and specializes in regulatory program implementation and management.
John attended the University of Toronto where he completed a PhD and wrote a history of the Canadian Bankers Association. He graduated from Western University’s MBA program with distinction and is an Ivey Scholar.
