TABE In-Person: Chief Economists’ Evening
Canada is facing major economic, financial and political challenges with growing concerns about increasing tariffs, stagnant productivity growth, housing unaffordability, and an inability to manage population growth. At the same time, there is a growing sense that the country can seize this moment and make generational policy changes to tear down interprovincial trade barriers, build large infrastructure projects and reduce reliance on the U.S. market. All of this against the backdrop of global economic tectonic changes including a breakdown in the rules-based system, aging workforce, mounting debt, rising income inequality and climate change.
Come join TABE for its annual evening with the Chief Economists on Wednesday, February 26 from 5:00-7:30 at the National Club, where Jean-François Perrault (SVP & Chief Economist, Scotiabank) and Dawn Desjardins (Chief Economist, Deloitte) for a fireside chat where they will sift through the noise to provide insight into these issues.
This Event will provide members with the opportunity to socialize, network, meet fellow
business economists, learn and ask questions about economic and financial issues. Hors d’oeuvres will be served, and all attendees will receive a complementary drink ticket. There will also be a cash bar.
This event has been organized by Sylvia McGratten, Tony D’Avanzo and Alex Ciappara – all TABE Board Members.
