TABE (In-Person Luncheon) – Path to Net Zero Series: Obstacles to the Financing

TABE (In-Person Luncheon) – Path to Net Zero Series: Obstacles to the Financing

Over the course of 2024/25, TABE is planning several events for its Path to Net Zero Series where we discuss a variety of issues regarding climate change and through transitioning towards net zero carbon emissions.

This next event will present obstacles to financing of the transition based on case studies prepared by the University of Toronto Global Climate Finance Accelerator under the leadership of Susan McGeachie, its Founding Partner and CEO.

The transition to a net-zero economy necessitates substantial capital investment, estimated at approximately US$3.5 trillion per year globally. Climate positive projects are often not economical due to myriad factors.  What are these factors?  What can be done to reduce the barriers to financing?  What financing structures look promising?

This event has been organized by Alex Kraas and James Fudurich, members of TABE’s Board of Directors.
