TABE In-person Luncheon: The Economics of Home Ownership Affordability in Large Cities – Toronto as a Case Study

Professor George Fallis wrote the text book on “Housing Economics in Canada in 1980”, providing tools for analyzing and understanding trends in supply and demand at that time. The analysis covered a period of time characterized by significant unaffordability and inequality in housing, much like today. Professor Fallis will present the models used in his 1980s textbook to address issues faced in Canada’s largest housing market today, with an emphasis on what has changed and what has stayed the same.

This event has been organized by Diana Petramala (former member of TABE’s Board of Directors) and James Fudurich (current member of TABE’s Board of Directors).

A light lunch and refreshments will be provided.
