TABE Webinar: AI and the Labour Market: Implications for Workforce Planning

This webinar is based on recent research by Forum Research that looks at the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the Canadian labour market.

Labour markets are highly localized in Canada. Major technological shocks like AI have significant implications for local approaches to workforce development. We worked through these implications for the specific case of Chatham-Kent, a community in Southern Ontario.

The webinar will be of interest to anyone who is interested in the impact of AI on local workforce development.

Michael Grant Chief Economist at Forum Research Inc

Michael Grant is Chief Economist at Forum Research Inc., a leading Canadian market research firm. He oversees Forum’s economic practice, which uses primary data for tailored economic analysis. Before joining Forum in 2023, Michael worked in applied economics since 1985, including as economist and research director at the Conference Board of Canada. He has authored numerous studies on topics such as finance, mergers and acquisitions, food economics, education, and innovation.

Diana Petramala Real Estate and Land Economist

Diana is a land economist with over 16 years of experience leveraging economic fundamentals to solve complex real estate and urban planning challenges, for the private and public sector. Diana’s career experience has spanned banking (TD Economics), academia (TMU) and consulting (Altus Group). More recently, Diana founded her own boutique economic consulting company (Petramala Research Inc.).

Diana’s work has influenced housing and infrastructure policy, informed multi-billion-dollar investment strategies, and advanced urban and regional economics through teaching and research.
