Assessing the US Economic and Labour Market Outlook with Official and Alternative Data

Laura Ullrich, Director of Economic Research at Indeed.com, will bring both traditional and job postings data from the Indeed Hiring Lab to bear on the US economic and labour market outlook at a time of heightened uncertainty and mixed signals. She will also share how Indeed and other alt data were used to fill in critical gaps and add insight during the recent US government shutdown when official data were unavailable.

About the series

This session is part of the CABE and TABE New Tools of the Economists’ Trade series, which looks at emerging tools to address real-world economic and policy challenges.  Danielle Goldfarb, TABE Board member, will be moderating the session.
