TABE/CABE Webinar: The New Tools for Global Trade: Applying Frontier Technologies to Modernize Trade

As Canada and the world face the US trade shock, frontier technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain are creating new tools to reduce frictions, improve visibility, and modernize trade systems.

Join TABE and CABE for a webinar with Emmanuelle Ganne who leads the World Trade Organization’s work on technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, paperless trade, and digital trade measurement. Ganne will share global insights from the WTO’s latest research, including how frontier technologies are reshaping trade flows, cutting costs, increasing supply chain visibility and making it easier to adapt to disruption. She will also share brief thoughts on what this means for trade policy.

This session is part of the New Tools of the Economists’ Trade series, which looks at emerging tools to address real-world economic and policy challenges.

Emmanuelle is Chief of Digital Trade and Frontier Technologies at the World Trade Organization. She has twenty years of experience in international trade, trade policy, global governance, and diplomacy. She is also a blockchain and trade digitalization expert and author of the book “Can blockchain revolutionize international trade?”

Danielle Goldfarb, TABE Board member and co-author of the related paper on Canada’s Under-the-Radar Trade Opportunity: Digital and AI-Enabled Trade hosts this session and the series.
