June 17, 2024

This presentation will explore how longstanding issues in the housing sector are reaching critical levels of urgency and what should be done to address those issues. Negative housing outcomes are persisting or worsening despite significant government efforts. Therefore, we must shift towards comprehensive system management instead of relying on traditional social policies. This requires a nuanced understanding of housing dynamics, including supply-demand interactions, and policy levers across levels of government.

Duncan and David have co-written (Policy Scotland/CHEC/Globe and Mail) and advocated for a rethink on housing policy, predominately at the Federal level for the last 7 years, meeting with various Deputy Ministers, MP’s, CMHC, and the Bank of Canada.
