Buy, Sell or Run? What’s behind the latest boom in Toronto home prices and what can we do about it?

May 31, 2021

Canada’s housing market, especially in Southern Ontario, is on fire. This is prompting many commentators to bring back the “B” word.

TABE has put together a panel of housing market experts to discuss the economic and demographic factors behind home price escalation in Ontario’s top housing markets and what policy tools, if any, should be used to temper market activity. The panelists will also compare today’s market to that of the early 1990s, the last time these experienced a real estate bubble. The panel will include discussion from both real estate economists and on-the-ground industry experts.

About the Panelists
