On August 15, 2021, the Liberal Party called for an early election for September 20, 2021. To that end, Mr. Askari will discuss assessment of fiscal credibility of the platforms, while Mr. Giroux will explain how the Parliamentary Budget Officer’s mandate differs during an election, when parties can ask him to determine the cost of electoral proposals. The presentation will touch on these issues.
