Statistics Canada will release the latest estimates for quarterly GDP on May 31, 2023. This session will go through the results of the estimates for the first quarter and the estimates for March 2023.

BB3 Acting Director - National Economic Accounts Division Brenda Bugge

Brenda Bugge is the Acting Director for the National Economic Accounts Division at Statistics Canada. Brenda is a graduate from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador and has spent most of her professional career at Statistics Canada. Brenda has been compiling statistics to measure the economy for many years and is currently navigating the challenges of estimation during a pandemic and recovery.

JA Senior Economist – Unit Head, Industry Accounts Division. Julie Adès

Julie Adès has close to 15 years of experience in economic analysis and research from the private and public sectors combined and has been working on the monthly analysis of Gross Domestic Product by Industry at Statistics Canada since May 2021. She holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Université Laval in Quebec City.
